Everyone is an artist, please join the group whether you regard yourself as a serious artist, if it's just a hobby, you don't believe you are a 'good' artist, you want advice on techniques, you create spiritual or psychic art, you love to draw cartoons, you prefer landscapes, wild life, collage, any media, it doesn't matter, EVERYONE is welcome.

When i was at uni the design school and the fine art school were next to each other. They always looked down their noses at us.

Well they had no right to look down their noses, what a cheek! I didn't go to art college as I should have done as was destined to do, due to being unwell and regret it now but I wonder if it so important? Do you believe you can teach an artist to be an artist? I don't! Techniques, yes, but creativity and originality they come from heart and soul not a college or book. Please join

You cant teach an artist to be an artist anymore than you can teach a designer to be a designer. It has to come from within and arguably be born in you. You can teach people technically, yes, but not creatively.
Id better join this group methinks!-

I believe creativity comes from the heart and soul, everyone is an artist im my book, if a person is not 'technically' brilliant it doesn't mean they can't be creative. Creativity is something that can be drawn out and nurtured and encouraged
Many people who were no good at drawing at school never get the chance to discover their true potential, some people may discover they are brilliant at collage or embroidery or scrapbooking and card making. Creativity takes on a life when it comes from an inner drive I believe. It's sad that art appears to take a back seat in our schools
