Hi to everybody...sad news today...Wendy has decided to leave this group altogether and has handed over the ownership of it to me...I'm sure we'll be sorry to see her go especially as I loved her work...such a shame...I'm not sure yet what to do with it, so will have a think and get back to you...
I'm looking forward to seeing some artwork from our members soon...
Great big hugs to one and all for now...

Three of my pictures
@ 2008-06-19 – 13:40:23
These are actually over on my own blog but I thought I would put them here too since I've never posted in this group before.....
They're not good pictures because they're under glass, but they's enough to give an idea.
This is in gouache, and the odd murky dots are silver acrylic ink.
This is also in gouache, but with gold acrylic ink.Alas, I don't get to keep these, they're going as prizes in the Children of Artemis Raffle for Witchfest Wales! (On Saturday!)

'Gaia' Abstract Landscape -Pastel Painting
@ 2008-06-12 – 21:00:26

After my walk on part of the ridgeway, I took some sketches of the landscape and then painted my interpretation of Mother Earth -or 'Gaia' which is the title of this piece.

FOUND ON THE STUDIO FLOOR
@ 2008-06-11 – 21:09:26

Some good, some bad, some indifferent. Some watercolour, some acrylic, some oil and some a mixture. All standing around doing nothing, some unfinished some forgotten but all taken from real life.
It's all art whatever it is so go on sort out the old stuff. -
Golden Goddess
@ 2008-06-08 – 21:24:25
Goodness knows where she came from! It looks very ethnic to me and I like it enough to keep it and put it on my wall
Slightly different than usual, I painted a box canvas with black acrylic, used some texture paint, gold leaf panel, polymer clay and gold powders and relief paint. I am about to start other work and have been mad on collage for a while, still am so hopefuly have some more to post soon.

Tracey Emin Enfant Terrible?
@ 2008-06-08 – 12:09:48
There was a time when I thought that Tracey
Emin and her like were not true 'artists' that it was all a gimmick to get publicity for the exhibitions and the enfant terribles of the art world were a good vehicle for that, I have to admit I changed my mind. I have a fantastic book about her work, a huge heavy thing that was given to me as a gift and after looking though some of the work she has done I do believe she is a true artist, the artist who creates from the soul, her life experiences, what she has learned about life are laid bare. There is one piece which is just a word in neon lights which I love and a modern tapestry style with phrases (she uses a lot) which is something that appeals to me and it made me draw breath it is so powerful ,there is a lot of emotion and pain and confusion in her work which is very human, she is earthy and raw, I don't like all her work visually and wouldn't necessarily have some of it on my wall, but that's not the definition of an artist, there are some pieces which I would certainly love to own and display on my wall at home. What do others think, what's your opinion?
