Hi to everybody...thought I'd put up two conventional paintings this time...both are oils on canvas - they're both 36 by 29 inches approx...click on each one to see larger picture...
This one is called...'Storm over the Camargue'
and this one is called 'Battle of Wills'

Pro Very important animals in human history and very bonded to us for centuries...I think it's sad that we've lost that bond now and replaced it with cars...horses definitely are more environmentally friendly...
I'm not confident around them after an unhappy incident with one but can't judge all horses by one grumpy pain in the butt...actually it was he who gave me one when he deposited me unceremoniously onto a spade...

Pro I share your fear of horses. A long time ago, Helen and I were walking in the country and had to cross a field with a horse in it. I was nervous and said "I don't fancy this, horses don't like me". She called me a wimp, said I was talking nonsense and urged me into the field. The horse ran at full gallop all the way from the other end of the field, about 100 metres away, straight towards me like a bolt of lightning. It shuddered to a stop right in front of me and with no warning sunk it's teeth into my arm. Luckily, I was wearing a very sturdy motorcycle leather jacket so I was unharmed, but that experience lives with me even now. I'm terrified of horses. All this talk of "smelling fear" is utter bollocks. That horse was EVIL!

Pro Yup, there are bad horses just as there are bad people, and maybe they can smell fear...I wasn't actually afraid of the one I was on in the beginning, but I was a complete novice and it took advantage of it...walked me straight into the stable and must have known the door was too low for a rider to stay on its back...I slid right over the saddle over its backside and landed on a spade... Not a pretty site...that was in Austria...on a pony trek...I was put straight back on the bloody horse and it turned every five minutes and tried to bite my feet all the way through the trek...LOL...I also got bitten to death by frigging horse flies, which I proved allergic to...otherwise it was a good holiday...never went on a horse again...GBHs...XX

Jen, those paintings are great. You've captured the emotion in those horses which I would think is difficult to do.
