Hi Jacki
Maybe we're just dancing to a different drum?

Hi Alan
Because from your previous posts regarding your recent
happenings in life I think it might be related...
but that is my perception!!
If I did not know this and was an on-looker
I would perceive a meaning because by 'the title' and then
the 'tight rope' relating to being optomistic with life
and "Hope"
With regards to on lookers....
Matters can look jolly but are not always so!!
Your painting is cheerful and that to me is "Hope"
Love Julie X-

That is an interesting subject Alan, it's funny I don't like the Circus and have always found them a bit scarey don't ask me why, the painting doesn't come across as jolly, but it is colourful, all those colours will have some meaning (lots of blue) is it Cerulean blue? and the tightrope walker, perhaps we can all relate to the psychology in this? I know I can!
Great stuff and thanks for posting -

Thanks Wendy.
I don't like them much either! I think that is why I have distorted all the perspectives. The colours also are just superficial, I think the underlying reality of circuses is quite sad (a bit like life at present) The untended elephant is happy though even though the angel is bored by it all. -

I like it

Although I am having a hard time seeing which angle I am suppose to view this from!?

Looking again, it's like I am looking from below as an audience member but then again from above looking down on the other acts going on!

Yes I have painted three seperate perspectives
One is the tightrope walker which exists in one plain, one is the faceless crowd which exists in another and the third is the performers and bored angel sitting on a tiger in the corner. There is very little interaction between the three areas or indeed with each other apart from the shadows which link the performers.
It is supposed to give a slightly disorientating and claustrophobic effect. It is a sort of commentary on how I was seeing life at the time.
As usual bits of it work for me. A lot doesn't.
Thanks for the interest though and good luck with your group!-
