This piece came about while generally browsing on the internet months ago, I stumbled upon an article about 'Strange Creatures'. One section showed a Dugong which I found facinating. One line of the text mentioned something along these lines: '...Years ago, sailors would often mistake the Dugong for a mermaid because of it's tail...!'
I had this concept a while ago but it didn't turn out well but came back to it randomly late yesterday evening and finished it just after midnight! It had taken me four hours, using watercolours and watercolour pencils and I also did the background on on sheet of sketcing paper and the Dugong and mermaid on another and stuck it the background sheet!
